General Rusty Arches

Ive just had a section of the OSR Wheel arch fall out of my car. Theres a huge hole there now where you can see the road. This obviously isnt gonna be roadworthy (or MOTable)...and will need sorting sharpish...any ideas?

My moneys on welding in a new plate. then paint and etc on top...

Just weld a plate and paint like you suggested The rear arches arent structural are they.. I thought the subframes took care of that, so a plate would suffice over the hole

just make up a plate the exact size and seam weld it in and fully panel seal it, primer and then paint as far as i know the rear arches are structural as when a rear quarter is replaced alot of the time the outer inner carch has to be also so that it all lines upa and is welded together solid

Also remember that the rear seat acts as a strutbrace between the rear arches so they stop the car flexing
