Tym,

Mine were replaced under warrenty,it was a 1.9MJET Series 1, they rusted within 12 months,no problem getting them changed as Fiat recognise there was a fault with some of them.

there guna rust if youve taken the wheels off.

there just cheap and nasty wheel bolts that when you remove will damage the coating.

just go to your dealer and tell them and it should come under warrenty.

no need to open a whole thread becuase your lazy and wana bitch.

First off "CLAWLIGER" i started this thread to ask if the wheel nuts are under warranty to stop me wasting my time going over there, having me waiting for 30minutes for them to just check the wheel nuts to tell me if they are covered by warranty. By posting on this forum whilst i'm at work i save time and save money - It's not a case of being "LAZY" as you stated in your previous post.

Please refrain from trying to start an arguement with me over such a simple matter "CLAWLIGER" as i'm not in the best of moods.

I'm going to go for wheelnut covers personally...

I think thats what alot of owners are doing Mr Ffoxy

The Dealer where I got mine replaced said that most of the rusting problem was a reaction to the sea air in transit from Italy, hence the fact they never even questioned replacing them under warranty.

Mine did, ages ago, all I did was buy some k-rust from halfords, paint that on which eats the rust, then used alloy silver paint touch up paint. Looks good, and saves the hassle of going through the dealer. I put a post up time ago with pics, have a search see if you can get it.

mine were minging when I got mine too, the front brake calipers were the same

tins of silver and black hammerite and half an hour sorted them

the nuts need doing again though, wheels have been off a good few times since then

Yes they ARE covered under warranty. My 1.9 Mjet nuts were replaced at 26 months last November, along with the rusting locking wheel nuts. I 'phoned Fiat Customer Services UK - they did not even ask for an inspection or photographs - they just booked me into my local dealer. When you get the new ones, remove them one at a time & coat them with "Waxoyl" otherwise they will also rust!! All Fiats/Alfa Romeos/ Maserati's & even Ferrari's have this problem. The Italians just paint bare metal but the Germans anodise there nuts:eek:!
