Hi, we've just got back from 4 days in Torquay. It was very nice, thankyou. Now, after going down there at a fairly constant 60 mph along the M62/M6/M5 my temp gauge needle was up in unchartered territory, 90+!!! It very rarely gets past the 55 mark usually. This went up to the 100ish mark in slow or standing traffic!!! I was starting to get a bit worried and spent many a traffic que roasting my nads off with the heater on full belt! One day we got back to the camp car park and I left it running to see just when the rad fan would kick in. This happened around the 105? mark. When we got home I checked the Haynes Manual and the fan should start at 85ish-90 if I remember correctly, so, is there anything amiss or am I worrying unduly?
When I got the car it didn't have a temp gauge in it just a little red light in the bottom right hand corner (stupid idea I reckon), so I got a clock pod from another Cinq' in the scrappy and fitted it. So, any help/ideas are greatfully recieved.
*EDIT*
After reading another thread about the temp light getting brighter (like mine did) it reminded me that when I got the car the sensor was broken/snapped where the spade connector is. It was, I think, originally a dark green colour but the one that the Fiat dealer gave me was black and a bit longer too, so I'm hoping I have the right sender unit. Sorry for being so thick but I was brought up on old Fords and I also play with old VW's so these little Italian fun buggies are still a learning curve for me.
