Hi Guys
I am considering getting a Panda here in Rome (I would love a 750S) and
driving it back to London
I saw one already registered from ASI (Italian historic auto club)
What would I need to convert it to pass MOT etc..
I drove my BMW LHD in Italy many times and without any major issues
I would also like the Van version!!!lots of room behind but only 2 seats

I am only really scare of the Channel:eek:
can you take the Panda on Eurostar???

Er, no, that's the passenger train I believe. ;) You want Eurotunnel Le Shuttle if you're taking a Panda, though much cheaper to get a ferry.

I take the view that I'd rather be on top with a chance of escape rather than trapped in a tunnel underneath all that water - not sure if that helps with your phobia, or if it's just added a second one? (y)

Lots of info about importing cars on the direct gov website - it should be fairly straightforward if you don't mind a bit of pointless paperwork! For the mot it used to be the headlight aim to change & the speedo re calibrated to mph but I haven't checked the mot manual (it looks like as long as its clearly marked in mph & kph you're ok now) - headlight aim definitely needs correcting though or it won't pass. Cheers....I now have 2 (TWO) phobia!!!(y)

i know i'd rather take the ferry! much more fun..

well a headlamp change over has got to be about the most easy thing to do on a panda anyway.
panda have kph and mph on the dial.. so i think it would pass. besides, the only thing you have to change is the face plate. it will still clock K's though on the total distance covered thingy.

really wish the UK was in kilometres.. so much easy to use.
"we'll go metric.. but we will keep the imperial distance measurements"

RHD headlights and change the rear lights to reverse and fog are the correct side.

Also need to speedo to show MPH, so assume this would need to be changed also, as although RHD show MPH and KMh, LHD normally only show KMh.

Good luck finding a car Luca - are you coming to live in the UK or just a visit?

I lived in London from 1991 and then got back in Rome for family issues
My partner, my 13 years old son, my border collie (Renzo) and my cat (Blue)
are in London...
Been very hard these last few months...
So I am glad to going back!
are the parts i will need hard to find?
I may fill the boot with spares(y)
