Hi guys took my 1.2 16v Punto sporting to get rolling roaded. Has a 4-2-1 (De-Cat) and GSR...

Bad points, it had 2 broken HT leads :( and no air filter and also a ****ed lambda sensor :(

But still managed to push 89.2 BHP / 100 FtLb Torque

Guy said i was under-fuelling and over-fuelling at certain points and wheels did not have a spigot ring on front right tyre...
Second graph fuel to air was ment to be 13.1 and it was dipping and diving all over the place!
After a service, air filter and fixing things etc you reckon ill get 90? :D

Give it a proper service then
4x plug n leads
1x High Performance filter to allow better breathing if using airbox
1x Oil and fitler change
2?X lamba's universal self wires should be okay?

Ziggy
Thanks mate, ive bought a performance air filter from ebay today, going to get ht leads from breakers on saturday, and do a full service on her, oil, plugs etc :), next is maybe mk1 cams and a remap :)

you should easily get about 93bhp or more!
how much did that cost you if u dont mind me asking?

The Rolling road cost me £40 we did it as a group from kent modified, there was 10 of us :) maybe if we could get a few people together we can have a Punto rolling road day?

There seriously cheap to buy new to start with...
Less then £20 - so why risk getting duff leads or not much life leads?

A decent Spark is essential - Decent plugs and good HT's can make a difference

i only done 3000 Miles on these HT leads and only 2 are snapped, cant believe it still pulled 89.2 still though! :-O
Plus monies a bit essential at the moment :(

So far have beaten a 1.4 clio, a 1.7 CDTI new astra and was head to head on a 1.8T audi A3 (has done 110,000 to be fair)

Just need to get to that 105BHP mark badly, i go on quarter mile soon!

How was he testing the lambda sensor, or are you going by the graph?

Lambda readings are ignored at anything over 75% throttle as the ECU switches to open loop and a "full power" map (as such). Lambda issues only show up at part-throttle and cruise.

If you're basing it on the fuelling graph, the unstable readings will likely be down to any misfire from the broken HT leads. You'll rarely get a perfectly smooth fuelling graph, plus manufacturer's always err on the richer side at the high rpm for safety, which is why it dips at the end.

If you go back, tell him to stop being a lazy arse and use the inductive pick-up rather than calculated roller speed using the car's speedo as it can throw the torque readings out.

Other than that, good power. (y)
