If you're gonna amp them in the near future, then you may as well just buy one set of suitably high WRMS comps over buying a low WRMS set, then having to buy another set of comps when you come to amp them :)

Hi guys

OK, be warned, having higher power rating on your speakers on a lesser powered amp could cause meltdown of the amp and damage to the speaker drives. As a rule of thumb, you should have more or at least equal power from your amp than your speakers can handle. That or make dam sure you don't crank them up to max.

I can run through the calculations if anyone's interested but it's techie geek speek and might bore people

So, either buy the matching speakers, but TBH you want even them amped as the head units never deliver what they promise!

Or go the full hog and get the monsters but do not drive them hard.:slayer: As soon as you hear any kind of distortion, back off a little. Get the amp fitted later. As long as you don't go mad with it, you should be OK.

Cheers

Yeah, headroom is a good thing :) If its the opposite, then keeping the gain low is a good idea :)
