Never use wheel spacers they will screw the wheel bearings and mess up the handling. Also without ultra sticky slicks (or near enough slicks) the wide tyres wont grip as well as more normal widths. The car weight isnt enough to press the rubber down properly.

Something wider/stickier than basic rubber is always good but too much would be worse.

Lots of info on here. Get the right offset and 98mm PCD with the correct centre spigot dia. If going from steelies you may need longer wheel bolts and dont forget the locking bolts. IMHO anything bigger than 16" on the Punto makes it look like a pram with saucers for brakes. Not cheap and not a good look.

There was a recent post with a set of Fiat alloys and tyres that looked pretty nice.

Wheels are cheap enough to refurb with rattle cans (better with stove enamel) and the seller says coupe set have new tyres so if its as he says well worth having.

Do check Coupe wheel offset is ok for Punto.

which alloys are u looking at?

whats the best stuff to use to self refurb?

as for the fit, there been a few ppl here who have fitted them without any issues. BTG fitted some a short while back. ive seen some on ebay which say offset is 40 but not too sure as there havnt been any issues ive read about.

correct me if im wrong tho.

just need to wait a week till i get some cash to buy a set whichever way i go. (n) hoping they dont sell in the mean time.

Trace back a week or so and you'll find the thread, but get a deposit down ASAP if you want to grab them.

Stove enamel is THE best option. Otherwise use rattle can paints as for bodywork. Loads of time for that - its winter now.

couldnt find the post where they selling the alloys but found a couple of sets about... just need to see bout haggling and getting a refurb kit - they got some kurbing/flaking. do the refub kits come with a putty or something to sort out the kurbing/scratches and are they any good? seen a few things like that on ebay.
as for winter tyres, i aint got the time or patience for all the swapping and changing, once the alloys are sorted, they go on and wont come off again unless brakes or tyres need changing. lol but i will give the steels a quick refurb to tidy them up just incase.

Hubcentric spacers that bolt into the hub are fine. If you buy them alloys for a punto then will come with everything needed, eg wobbly bolts and rings etc
