Tuning Ripspeed cone filter???

Hi, 16V N/T. Just fitted a cone filter but it said on the instructions that I needed to oil the filter before use??? What does this mean? If I don't do it what could happen? Thanks

it wont filter properly and will hold moisture, go halfords or any where like that and you can buy filter oil, you may have to buy full cleaning kit with the oil in, but there will be enough in there for quite a few cleans an re-oils

Thanks, do I just spray the filter with oil or does it come with a brush then brush it on? Not sure how to apply. Thanks

spray or squeeze bottle, they come with instructions

I've never heard of this before. Can you oil a pollen filter also to stop it going mouldy or would it just stink the cabin out?
