Technical rip - my punto

i just wanted to thank all for your help over the last 2 weeks but my punto has died,

whilst driving home yesterday my engine had a failure, basically the water hose cracked which drained all of the coolant out which made the engine severly overheat and then something popped and all the oil drained out aswell!
bugger

having just replaced the fan belt it was a real jkick in the teeth, the garage has quoted me some rediculous prices to get a "hard to get" reconditioned 1.7 diesel engine!

wot year punto is it mate i have a td sx punto 1994, there is several websites you could try to get a reconditioned engine which area of the country do you live in ill post some up later
by the way did you find changing the fan belt hard cos mine needs doing and wondering how hard it was to do

often see 1.7 diesels going cheep on ebay, you could get one an swop engines.
