got a hgt. when horsing about how high high should you take the rev counter b4 changing gears. for example do you redline it or not to get the best performance.

change gears at 6000 revs. is that for all gears. reason why am asking is that i got my arse kicked by a corsa today which doesnt usually happen as i have raced this bloke b4. just seemed he was taking longer to change gears but i was loosing him during gear changes. he has a 1.4 twinport.
