I have a 07 Grande Punto TJet with just over 30k on the clock.

I have noticed that when i select reverse than it doesn't always want to go into reverse. (I am completely stopped etc)

Sometimes I can stop, and it will go straight in but more commonly it has begun to not drop into reverse. Its stuck half way and doesn't engage. If i bring clutch up, it grinds and i dont want that.

I have to take it out of reverse and put it it another gear (clutch down and play with gear selector, 3rd, 2nd, reverse etc) and goes into reverse on about the 3rd go.

I have no problems with going into any other gear.

Could it be a mount in the gear nob selector tool that just off?

Would Warrenty cover this as I have the Premier Cover Warrenty on the car from Fiat (From Dealer 5 months ago)

I just wanted a bit more information before i ring the garage to outline it.

Thanks in advance.

Ive got the 6 speed on the diesel Sporting which has no problem going into reverse but mines a different layout to yours I'm guessing.

I have had car in the past where reverse was hard to get in and only goes half in as your saying. I seem to remember double clutching before selecting reverse give it a go but I'm sure there will be more t-jet owners along soon to let you know if they have the same problems as you.

mine does this on occasions too (1.2 8v) Having come from a Ford  it was a fact of life,

as above try double de-clutching Ie stop the car put the clutch down take the car out of gear release clutch fully then clutch down and select reverse

the gear boxes normally have a Syncromesh for forward gears but this doesn't apply to reverse

I get this problem from time to time. Usually when i've just come off the motorway or driving at speed. I've even had it pop out of reverse once. I've just learnt to live with it to be honest.

Many Thanks for your assists.

Double Clutch and its fine.

Agree, smoothest gear changes in the GP. My friend's Clio is quite clunky but i think thats majority based on the driver :)
