Technical Request for fellow 20V vis owner!

I have a potential issue with the wiring from my throttle pedal potentiometer into the main loom. Someone has cut off the block connector that I presume should be there and has spliced a replacement potentiometer into the loom by soldering the wires together. I'm not sure it has been done correctly as my car won't rev cleanly through the range. Could a fellow 20V vis owner have a look in the footwell, under the dash, locate the block connector from the potentiometer to the loom and note which wires join to which?
I would be most grateful to either get my issue solved or, at least, eliminate something else.
