Technical Replacing the speedo Cable...

Hi Guys,

Is replacing a speedo cable easy or shall i book it into a garage to get done??

If it easy could someone do me a step by step guide by any chance...

Not too sure i think the cable comes in two parts. You will have to take the top piece of dash off and remove the clocks which are held in with 4 self tappers. Then release the cable at the back by pushing the outer ring backwards which releases it. Then should just run into the cabin. Should be a piece of **** compared to clutch cable.

There are different types a one piece and a two piece cable you'll need to find out which you have first.

If its the part that goes to the dash... what a c*** of a job.

If your hands are double-jointed you have a fighting chance.

It isa difficult, but a bit of patience and a guide tube and its no great problem, I have found.

If its a one piece and a sei fitting is the same as a cinq then it is p*ss easy, i did mine in five minutes it was that simple real piece a p*ss which saids a lot considering its a fiat.

Its not getting the cable off the back of the dials its putting it back on that is the ball ache because you have to push the cable onto the spike nd hold it there while you nove the sleave back over it. All this with about 2" of space for your hand to go through

the trick to give you more working space is not to clip the cable in to all the clips until it is locked onto the back of the speedo.

it was really simple to do mine honest.
