Styling Replacing Bumpers MK2

Hi guys,

I've got a boring black MK2 with the crappy bumpers on and have got my hands on a front and rear bumper. The rear is already in black so it just needs fitting.

I went to a bodyshop today and asked how much it would cost to paint the front bumper and fit both. He said to paint it would cost £120 + VAT and to fit both he wanted another £150 + VAT on top. This seems mega bucks, is he having a laugh or what.

When i asked how much to fit just the rear bumper he said £20, now that more like it but this means he wants £130 to fit the front.

What do you guys reckon?

Are you sure he didn't mean £150 fitted?

Surely he wouldn't say £20 for the rear but £150 (+vat?!!!) for both?

The front is more complicated than the rear but not £130 complicated!!!!!

He said £120 for the respray plus £150 to fit both so i take it £270 for respray and fitting!

Seems a bit much if you ask me!

How complicated is it to fit the front?Do you have to take the front panels off?

Top tip - get a Haynes manual!

There are quite a few screws of various types that need loosening and having a helping hand will be useful.

yeah, they're a pain to get off. even harder to line up properly!
