Technical replacement engine 899?

my engines worn at 71k - burning oil and also some white stuff in the coolant bottle.

is it better to get it fixed?
or a new (second hand) engine?
in which case which newer fiats have the same motor?

From that breif explanation of the problem it sounds like the headgasket is on the way out.

It is fairly cheap to replace the headgasket

What led you to conclude that the engine is worn?

i think, or thought its worn by the amount of oil its going through, about a pint a month for little mileage. i think it must be burning oil as its not dropping any. its also been a bit noisy and sluggish.
however regards the noise, i've used engine flush (for about 30 miles, not 10 mins idle) and its miraculously quietened things down! new lease of life!

if you can its better IMO to get another engine, once they start going its money for nothing
