Am looking at replacing the clutch on my 1.2 Stilo. The pedal is quite heavy for the last third of its travel to the floor, and the release bearing is also noisy. I replaced the clutch on my last Punto using a LUK kit, but the car was very juddery when pulling away afterwards. It certainly didn't have the problem beforehand, Can anyone recommend a brand from personal experience that should be spot on for this job?

In my experience LUk are a good make that I would use again and the juddering could of been from your flywheel having excessive wear/ hotspots or small crack in it. But any way valeo clutches are good and come with a warranty.

The jutter may have been that the old clutch and the flywheel were worn together. When you put the new clutch in it wasn't all even so to speak since the new clutch plate is straight and the flywheel might be a bit off.

I used a LUK clutch on my old Skoda felicia and it worked great. I did check the condition of the flywheel before i fitted the new one and it was in good condition. I noticed however that the old clutch wasn't worn it was the bearing that was making all the noise. But since i bought the clutch set i replaced everything since I already had it taken out and replaced all oil seals at the same time. Saves time in the future.
