replaced battery but car going off whilst driving..

battery was drained so bought a new one.

sicne then replaced coil pack due to misfire so also got new leads

engien light came on again
and now car switches off whislt driivng rarely..have to say i have neglected it due to no time..my fault

but what can it be

oil???
please advise

i cant see it being ur oil

does the car start back up again after that? sounds like ur altinator but cant be sure.

might be ur idle control valve, whats the idling like? also try ur throttle position sensor and map sensor

its done 60,000 miles.

when its idle the sounds isnt too bad...ok its cold in the morning so it will sound more funny..

when its just idling, does the needle bounce? the rev needle.

id get a diagnostic done

yep i think i need to., esp if its switchin off but the engine light keeps comin on solid gand not flashing..

just thought it might be something obvous..last thing i need now..

well does it just switch off when uv got ur clutch dipped?

this happened to me in my old escort, when ever i dipped the clutch it died, it was the idle control valve.

simple thing but take the leads of the battery and clean the clamps on the wires and then the battery aswell (even if it is new, it wont hurt) then do it all up again make sure its tight but not too tight.

Next step would be the ICV, but id get a diagnostic done before replacing parts, see what it says and try and work from there

went for one today but blasted engine light didnt coem n.
annoyign to get a diagnostic done..
even drove for a while and still nothing..knowing my luck itll come on when i least expect it..

ill do a few servicing checks..ill even try the battery as well to see if it props up anything.
