Hello !

I am new to the board (although I have posted :)).

We're going to Cornwall for Christmas but need to hire either an Estate car or a big 4 x 4 with a tow bar (we're taking our Conway Cruiser, which my Bambina won't be able to tow!).

I hope I am posting in the right place  but does anyone know of a company in the Midlands that hires cars / 4x4's with tow bars ?

Hope someone can help !

The only place I can think of off-hand is County Car & Van Hire but they're a bit of a schlep away from you, the closest branches being Warrington or Stockport. They used to do Land Rover Defenders but the only one they're showing on their website is the M-B ML350 which might be a bit..... ahem, pricey, but I'll include their site just in case it's of interest.

Others include:

or:

You might be more likely to find one with a tow bar from this company but they'll probably be more utilitarian............you might have to strap the family to the floor in the back. Still, it'll keep the kids quiet, especially if there's a bulkhead:

Ahem, yes, erm, well.....in my defence, I am still living in 1978. Can't wait for the latest version of the 128 to come out. I even saw the newest 132 this week, not sure about those bumpers though..........................

 Think I got away with that one. Mind you, I've just realised that the most up to date computers in 1978 were made by Tandy. Don't you just love those 4K devices with programmes loaded by a cassette recorder. They had a 64K model in the shop last week. Can't see home computers getting any more powerful than that in my lifetime.
