Is it possible to remove the lift up reverse plastic sleeve that is on my 1.2 Bravo's gearstick? If it is, I can cut down the stick a couple of inches and get a better gearknob...

Here's what I want to do to my car, without killing me on the insurance:

Marea Centre Console Conversion (so I can rest my poor, tired little left arm).
K&N 57i Induction Kit
Angel Remap
New Front Bumper with Fogs
CAR Drilled & Grooved Brakes
Decent Head Unit
13cm Door Speakers

The speakers in the back - what size are they? I can't put 6x9's in the back parcel shelf, since I transport a lot of stuff, and am constantly taking out the rear parcelshelf. Can't put any sort of amp or stuff in the boot, so just need to tweak the door and rear speakers.

Also, does anybody know what the wattage is on Marea Headlights? I want some 100w ones, as even with 100w bulbs in my Bravo headlights, it's still kinda dim.

Please Help!

Morbius.

I don't want to have a lift up reverse thing any more - can I not just remove it and use it as a normal gearbox? It's really annoying, and the gearstick is far too long - I don't want a lift up reverse, and I want a short stick.

Also, what about the wattage of the Marea headlights, and the speakers - come on, guys, I only got the car recently, and I need help here.

AFAIK (correct me if I'm wrong) it won't work - it's a security measure to stop you putting it into reverse at high speeds accidentally. Very easy to live with once you get used to it and unlike cars with 'normal' gears makes it a doddle to get into reverse. A big wrench will help with said knob.

Magna have you thought of buying a punto ;)
Yes - it was a Punto that destroyed my old car (Toyota Glanza, and one hell of a piece of kit). I'd had her 3 years, and some stupid woman in a Punto ran a red light, came round a blind corner at 60 (the speed limit was 30) and broadsided me (Damage: Twisted chassis, A-post cracked, 3 panels wrecked, bent front axle, shattered front suspension, and me: whiplash, fractured skull and a ruptured gall bladder).

So, no, I don't think I want a Punto...
