General Removing the gearknob

Have a 2005 Mk2 fiat punto and want to remove gearknob but have a clip attached for reverse gear so is there anyway i can take off the earknob without ruining the clip and cover? Thanks

Nope, it definatly isnt!

Jus keep pulling and twisting, if this doesnt work hit it from the bottom up with a hammer(or similar object) and then try pulling again.
