General Removing the centre console

My interior fan speed switch locked up, I got frustrated and broke it, oops!

Now how the hell do you get the centre console apart? Ive found the 2 allen screws below the ash tray, but the top half of it still wont budge.

A little help please?

i know that onto the mk1 you get them 2 below the ashtray and one more hidden behind the center dial which just pulls straight off
dunno if it will be the same for you though

Ok the centre dial doesnt come off, believe me i've tried, it seems as thought its firmly attached much higher up than the dials, where the two pannels join. God this is annoying!

Try removing the air vents above and check for screws in there

Just for future reference, the fiat technician showed me how to get the console off. Remove bolts from under ashtray, then yank the f**k out of it at the top and it will pop out. It's held in by two clips which you can just push back in. There is no screw behind the switch so dont try to pull it off.
