In reference to my other posts.......................
I have just bought a brand new punto mk 1 remote central locking key on ebay for £13 ,its a blank that needs cutting 'i can get it cut for £3',it comes with the number and is in origional fiat packaging.
is it possible to program the key into immob and central locking system myself or do i take it to fiat with the red key to be fleeced of all my cash.
help.............

If you've got the car code and instructions you can do it yourself, I think.
Otherwise check your overdraft.
Let me know what happens, I've got a cut key that needs progging into the immobiliser.
Remember seeing that key. ;)

bit of a good deal that key i think ? i asked the seller if he would end the auction early and name his price, i think fiat charge abit more than £13!

O.K Got the key, i have been told its possible to programme the key into the punto.....i just don't know how!
the new key came with its unique ID number.
i need it to work the remote central locking: my car is a punto without alarm so i beleive the receiver is by the speaker on the drivers side under the parcel shelf.
also need it to work in ignition and start car: need to know how to program it in to disarm imob. i have the red key.

All i want to know is all the above possible and if so please forward me some advice, At the end of the day the punto handbook contains no info on this, is it a big fiat secret?

THANKS

:DFirstly.. Insert Red key Into Ingtion And turn to 'Mar' make sure code light goes out, then remove red key and insert blue key and turn on, make sure code light goes out, Does this with all keys your have, then finally insert the red key again and turn on to mar and make sure the code light goes out. Hey Presto Keys now coded into code system.( Each key Must be inserted no more than 10 seconds behind each other)..

Secondly... The special code for the plip on you new key is for programming the remote, but you need one of the old codes of the other plips before a new remote can be programmed. If got that 4 digit code then let me know and i tell you how to do that as well.:D

Fiat expert - how many keys can it remember?
Does doing this void the original blue keys that came with the car or does it just add them to the list?

Hello everybody!
I just want to ask what I have to change if I've bought a new ECU for a punto gt with immo. I didn't get any keys to it, but I've heard you'll need to change some things that is already coded or can I just code this ECU to fit my old system?
Would be very happy if anybody knows, I mean when we're talking about keys and stuff.
Cheers Fred

Punto GT - The car don't move.... But I'll fix it ;)

Immob holds 8 keys. My immob disables new key recognition after first batch of keys entered. Manual says you have to go to dealer with red key, code card and all existing blue keys.

FIAT EXPERT - your instructions on remote central locking would be a great help.
thanks
do i lead a sad life or what........got to be in work in 10 mins and don't finish till 5.30 p.m, anyone know of any decent welding jobs available in west midlands...i am coded & qualified upto degree level......save me|)

Hello, Right all the keys in your possension must be programmed at the same time into the immobilizer or the keys you dont programme will be forgotten.
How To Programme the plip.Read Fully Before trying.
1. You need the 4 digit code off one of the old plips.
2. Now using a pen push in the little black dot on the receiver, It should start to flash.
3. Then release and wait for the light to flash once.
4. Now using your pen, Enter the first digit of the 4 digit code, E.g 4 = Four presses with pen on receiver so light flashes four times.
5. now wait until light comes back on then off.
6. Now enter second digit of code number.
7. Carry on for all four numbers.
8. On last number, when you have pressed the correct amount of times keep the pen pressed into the receiver and operate new plip. The receiver light should stay on. At this point remove pen and let go off plip. Wait 20 seconds plip should work.

Note. If on pressing plip and the light goes off straight away on the receiver either you;ve inputed code wrong or the code is wrong, and you will need a new reciever.. Hope this helps.:D:D

You with probaly have to get the fuel ecu decoded and then disconnect the code ecu so that the fuel ecu dosen't code again. Thats if its got code 1 on.

Ok, I see, but the thing is that there is just one ECU I know about, controlling the complete system with that ECU. DO you mean I have to decode that part, which handle the codes in this ECU, or are there any other box, which handles the codes? (I've seen one under the dashboard).?
A Fiat garage told me I had to change for example the magnetic valve too.
I'm impressed of your knowledge about this Fiatexpert, for me it's like equations possible to solve ;)!

Does you vehicle have a code light. If so there a fuel ecu and a code ecu. The fuel ecu is located under scuttle panel and the code ecu located near the fuse box. Easy way to find it is to follow the code ariel from igntion switch. This must be disconnected if the fuel ecu is decoded stopping it recoding

Yes, it has both the ECU's.
The question is how to fit a completely knew fuel ECU, and how to program it for the old key- and code system. Right now, nothing happens when I turn the key!
I mean, does this little "code ECU" just send a given signal to the fuel-ECU, and tells it to work? :)
Cheers Fred
