Remote locking

I have a Brava SX (2000 reg) which has central locking. Is it possible to have remote locking added? Would it be expensive/difficult to do - either by myself or a garage?

Easy

You can buy a Fiat upgrade kit (price seems to vary - paid about £60 for mine) and it is a 10 minute job to install if you have basic tools eg a screwdriver. You have to unplug the central locking relay and plug in the remote control relay. It really is that simple. Therelay is found behind the glove box, so you need to take the inside of the glovebox out. Not difficult.

The Fiat part is made by Meta of Italy so you could buy it direct from a Meta supplier, but they are a bit thin on the ground in this country (UK)

Hi again, the web site i suggested in my earlier reply to your question above remote central locking are actually suppliers of the Meta system and indeed it does just plug in, that simple, but its cheaper at £38.30+vat, follow links for accessories and then central locking.....OK ?

Remote central locking

Hi, Andi is perfectly correct. I've just bought one from PVSS - got it by post in about 2 days - fitted in minutes! and it is working fine. By the way my car is a Marea and the only problem was the instructions from META were wrong - they said the unit was in the glove compartment when it was under the rear passenger seat.

Cost was £38.30 + VAT + Post.

HELP!

Can any of you alarm experts explain to me why it is after setting my alarm with the remote, 30 seconds later it goes off, indicators start flashing, then my car unlocks itself? N Reg Bravo 1.4SX, I've had it back to my local Fiat dealer twice and they can't find the problem.

Also, why doesn't the alarm arm itself when the car is locked with the key?

Just to say thanks to those who helped me out with the remote central locking query.
Got the upgrade from PVSS from £49 (inc VAT) and fitted it with no problems at all.
