Remote central locking stopped working

Hi all.. for a while my remote central locking would not unlock the car unless I was about 6 feet from the car, and eventually stopped working all together. I figured it must be the battery in the key, so I changed it, and now the little red LED is lighting up again, but the car doesn't unlock.

Central locking itself still works if I stick the key in the doors, just not from the remote.

Anyone know what I should do?

PS - It's the factory fitted OEM remote central locking system for a 2B Punto Sporting.

Probably just needs reprogramming.

Is there anything about it in the car's user manual

Nothing.. that was the first thing I checked.. been quoted £45+VAT by Fiat.. =/

Hmmm, sounds so simple. Especially if it's only £45 Fiat are wanting to charge .

I assume you've tried the Punto section without luck?

Sound like your keys lost its code. Theres not alot you can do unless you have the Fiat Diagnostic computer to re-code it. Thats the bad thing about changing the batteries in your keys its like a scam.
