Yes there are tuners already testing, but its not released yet - the same as us. Squadra are a good company, just too far away. 172hp limit - to stop blowing the engine up ...nah they are set at that becuase of the manifold pressure limiter, thats all - same as the 8v. You can go over that if you have a decat, but you are starting to get expensive now. Oh and I can't even start to translate that lot.
We have found in 9 out of 10 cases that the remap has improved economy because the engine is running more efficiently and you use LESS strain on the engine to get up to speed quite simply. If you CHANGE your driving style becuase of the map, then expect a drop in economy.
It doesnt f**k your engine up - YOU f**k your engine up. If you drive around balls to the limit everywhere you will reduce the engine life anyway remapped or not. Sorry if that sounded like I was teaching you to suck eggs but its an obvious statement missed by a few here.
I dont know what the top speed is as we have never tested a customers car to that extreme We had a customer in France who tested his Punto JTD to 235kmh after a remap and thats the smaller turbo.
We can return the car to standard at any point FOC.
More important than 0-60 times, how about 50 - 70 as below....
RUN 1 (PRE TUNING)
S G-Force ft
50 - 60 3rd Gear 2.70 0.15 218
60 - 70 3rd Gear 3.32 0.07 318
Combined 6.02 0.11 536
RUN 2 (POST TUNING)
S G-Force ft
50 - 60 3rd Gear 2.47 0.19 198
60 - 70 3rd Gear 2.63 0.14 252
Combined 5.10 0.15 450
thats 86ft shorter to pass a vehicle.
At the end of the day, you either want your car tuned or not and if you tune a car AND DRIVE IT HARDER you will put more wear on something obviously. If you dont want the full 170bhp, then we will put on 155bhp for instance, its flexible to your needs. I have 195 on my Alfa, simply becuase I find 210 too harsh for everyday use. I have 130 on my punto which we will start to bring up to 150 in the near future as its a fun car - its all down to what you want it for.
