Hello

I needed new front tyres so I went for Vredestein Quatrac 2 as they have been recommended on here a fair bit. Got them from this website for just £33.43 each

It was only £5 for next day delivery too (although i had to wait an extra couple of days as they werent in stock)

Managed to get them fitted free when the car went in for silver service at 24000 miles (went straight through with no problems) but even if they had charged me it would only be £6.50 each. Therefore per tyre would only be £42.43 for tyre, delivery and fitting. I couldnt find them anywhere near that cheap, most likely as none of the local tyre fitters i contacted stocked them.

Good deal. I use mytyres.co.uk.

We have Vredestein Quatracc on our Golf GTi and they were fantastic in December's snowdump (fitted after previous winter getting nowhere on Conti Sport summer tyres). They might not be full winter tyres but i didn't need any more grip, we were ploughing with the front spoiler up steep hills where pseudo 4x4s got stuck. I even overtook a Jeep and another car with snowchains on (not being reckless, honest!). Now the roads are warm and dry I notice a bit less grip when pushing on in the GTi, but not enough to worry about and probably not something you'd notice in a baby Panda. MPG is not affected, nor is road noise.

I plan to get these Quatrac tyres for my Panda 100HP if I still have it next winter.

''Not sure what these online places are doing to the 'local tyre fitter' but they are a good thing for the consumer''

They are the local tyre fitter in most cases, Tyreshopper are the online side of local fitters of Viking up north and National down south. They also have another website and trade on ebay. I have used them for the wifes C5 VTR and bought the Barums which had good reviews, whilst looking at the site, I noticed they did tyres for the MJ and looked exactly like Conti's Eco tyres. A little further of looking and Barum are owned by Continental.

Not sure what these online places are doing to the 'local tyre fitter' but they are a good thing for the consumer.

I've found that small independent local tyre fitters will often match online prices. I like to give them my business if I can - these guys help to keep the market competitive & are well worth supporting.

These guys do have a tyre fitting shop aswell if you wanted to go in store. I have also found that tyre fitters will often match prices, but they said they couldnt match this one, best quote i got was £61.50 per tyre fitted.
