Hi i have a 1.4 grande punto active and wondering if sourced a rear beam to convert to disc will anything else be affected by convertin it over for example i asked fiat and they said i would have problems with my ecu is this correct and will i come across any other problems before i buy the whole axel discs nd calipers.

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Only problem I can see is that the rear wheel speed sensors are different for disc and drum brakes so the disc type sensors may not provide the correct signal your ABS system.

Hi thanks for that do you think i will be able to get around that or will it affect the car seriously haha im no mechanic and wont be fitting it myself got someone else to do that bit but just wanna warn him if there is guonna be any problems :)

I've no idea, but if the sensor sends a different signal than what your ABS ECU is expecting then you may need to change the ECU. This may or may not be possible.

It may be that your existing drum sensors will fit on the replacement disc brake setup.

Another thing to consider if you haven't already got the replacement axle is that there are 2 different torsion bar thicknesses available.
