Technical Rear axle bushes

I have just been informed that I cannot buy rear axle bushes for my 2004 multipla - instead i have to buy the full axle which will come with the bushes!!
Anyone know if these bushes are supplied by anyone else?

I've heard this before but unfortunately the owner ended up changing the whole rear axle - if this is the case I might be getting rid of the multipla as this is a stupid scenario.

If you can get a hold of the bushes please post a link as this is going to affect most cars in the next few years and will be a big help to all owners. Some one like Superflex may be able to provide poly bushes which will outlast the rubber items by many years - the problem is they will probably want a set of bushes to use as a template!

Spent most of the day on the phone and it's not looking good, spoke to a fiat specialist in Edinburgh who confirmed my worst fears so there doesn't appear to be a reasonably priced answer to my problem! I'm absolutely disgusted at Fiat for blatantly ripping off the very people who keep them in business and pay their wages!!!! Obviously these bushes are made individually somewhere at some point and probably for less than 15 quid. Yet I'm forced into paying a bill in excess of 600 quid.
I'd have been better off buying a second hand rangerover !

hi, there is a a seller on ebay.de who sells only the bushes for the rear axle. search under " rep.-satz schwingarm hinten multipla" cast about 25 euro..

My 2002 Multipla failed the MOT in October due to rear axle bushes, cost me £994.87 altogether for all the MOT work! My local mechanic tried his usual sources and was amazed that it was only available as a full axle, when the new axle arrived he mentioned that it looked like the new parts were more substantial than the failed parts.

1 x Axle @ £358.93
2 x Arm @ 102.45 each
Labour @ £200
plus other MOT bits
plus VAT

= £994.87

Most expensive MOT I've ever had!
