Rear amp interferance??

Hi people,
just bought a fiat punto that has a amp in the rear to power some kenwood 6x9's. The problem is there is interferance from what sounds like the altenater.
Does any one know why this is?
I have read on here that running the rca's down the other side of the car than the power cables will help, is that right?

try using an earth loop isolator (£2 from a car audio shop)

that is right, if they are run down the same side then it could well be the cause.

Also worth checking that the earth is conected properly.
