When i turn off the car, the radio goes to standard memory again(like i was putting it reset).. he just can't memorize the radio stations, bass, treble, etc...
Everything goes automatically to factory settings :s
Need a help..

Thx

Problem is you need to swap two wires around.

See the Audio guide for help. But i think its yellow and red.

Yes, it's an aftermarket one..
Thx Joske, will try 2 do it tomorrow morning..
One question.. If i change that 2 wires, will the radio turn on with the car turned off?

Thx

it will do the yellow is the switch wire off of the ignition and the red is your perminante live for the memory

You got 2 choices on this one.

1. You can swith the ing and per live wires round (red and yel). This will mean all your memory feature like base treble and radio stations will be stored permantly so no need to keep putting them in.

If you do this you can only play your radio/cd player while your ingnition is switched to "on".

2. You can join both the ing and permanent live wires of the radio to the permanent live of the car. This means you will power to the unit all the time even if there are no keys in the ingnition. Doing this though will mean you will have to turn the power off to the radio when you leave the car or you battery will go flat.

I personally have the best of both. I got a piece of 3 core power cable (only 2 wires) and joined it to a switch one wire to each bit of the switch, com and normally open. The I soldered one end to permant live of the car and the other wire to the ing of the radio.

This way if say im washing the car or in the petrol station with someone and want the radio on, i can just flick the switch and in on with out the key.

Or if the switch is off, my unit turns it self off with the key :)

My JVC head unit had this problem, turns out there was a fuse on the back that can be placed in 2 different positions.

It now stores all the memory settings etc, but is no longer controlled by the ignition switch, ie it can be switched on without keys in the ignition.

Done!!
I done the 2nd option.
Now it works like i wanted to :D

Thx

If you done the second option just remember to turn the unit of permanatly when you leave the car other wise you will be waking upto a flat battery.

I don't know what unit you have got but mines Sony and you press and hold the off button to turn off completly and press source to turn it back on.

My dads is a pioneer and his is very similar to the sony in both turning off and turning on.
