I only heard about that yesterday morning. But the fire engines from Snaith wizzed past my house to the quick motorway link just up the road from me (we live about 1 mile away from it). Extract from news of world:-

"Three people died and six were injured when seven vehicles smashed into each other in a horrific motorway pile up. A woman driver aged 36 and a 17 year old boy in the back seat died when their vauxhall cavalier plunged down an embankment. And a 52 year old male driver dies in hospital after his Honda CRV overturned in the crash on the westbound M62 near Goole, Humberside. The pile up hapenned on Friday evening as a lorry, a van, and 5 cars tried to take the slip road to the southbound M18. The Westbound M62 motorway was closed through the night but was opened yesterday"

I have used this route many times, and it does seem to be quite a dangerous stretch of road. There always seems to be several accidents around this part of the M62 every week.

one of the boys on the Starlet GT owners club was killed in a car crash about a week and a half ago.. gutted =/

R.I.P. to all of em.

There was a lad near me who tried to run across a motorway last weekend and didnt make it. Was hit by 7 cars. May of heard about it on the M60 anyone who lives in manchester.

i usually drive down that bit of the A1 at higher speeds than i'll admit to online, anyone crossing in front of me would be dead, i know its not nice to speak ill of the dead but wtf was he thinking crossing the A1?! if i was driving i cant imagine the impact that would have on my life, if you want to risk your own life fair enough, but think about the person who may hit you and what that will do to them.

if i had hit him i'd have to stop and try to help, at least call the emergency services and stay with them till the ambulance arrives. its not your fault if you hit someone on a motorway so the driver must have been drunk or high or driving illegally to not stop, either that or they are evil, panicing is not an excuse imo.

So many young lives lost lately on the roads :(

Have to agree with Jug that trying to cross a motorway/ fast dual carriageway on foot isn't the best way of getting to your destination - unfortunately a few people have paid for this with their lives and I hope others learn from it. Very callous of the driver not to stop though, who knows, that might have been enough to save the lad's life

WTF? has it really got that bad that we cant even observe the formal requirements of a funeral these days? what next, a country and western wedding?

anyone who comes to my funeral not dressed in black formal wear is getting haunted, i mean it.
