The car looks nice

Sold my late 2000 plus recently for £8.5K It had full specialist history (serviced every 6 months), a variety of tasteful mods (unichip, suspension, exhaust etc.), £1K+ ICE, good nick and 48K miles.

Seemed a fair price to me. I do think some people ask too much for LEs though which are usually a couple of years older and double the mileage.

if i had known bob i would have had that

i paid £6500 for a mint 2000 2.0ltr 20V aircon/sunroof/leather less then 40,000 which i dident think was too bad ot tell the truth.


as for the looks arguement, i adore the coupe from the front, looks awsome, i do love the coupe looks but i have to admit a soft spot for the GTV, it just looks so classy, both are beautiful cars make no mistake.

it is hard to compare them both really, i mena they are very diffrent in there own right and both demand equal respect. lovely cars

ohh and as for the GTV interior....imo better then the coupe, but the plastic colour coded interior strip in my coupe with the chrome dial surrounds still looks lovely

so i would say like i usually do, it is all down to personal preference, both cars are beautiful in there own right and i think to compare them both might be doing them both an injustice maybe?


now if they did a broom yellow GTV........... this arguement would be settled, lol

@ Pinin, I fear there are no blinkers my, I totally agree. Only thing is you then have the interior to contend with (£485 for an LE interior on ebay recently).

@Bob, sounds like one of the better prices i have heard for a Plus, seem to be so many with 60k, no full history, no mods and peeps want £9.25k for them-its ludicrous! A five year old car (even a certain classic) cannot have that much residual value!

@Bahney, I thought the colour coded strip in the cabin was a brilliant idea-never understood why it has not caught-on more!
As for broom yellow GTV LOL!!

Might have to have a word with Nige, see what else he can get out of it. Realistically i think a re-map, BMC CDA, decat and a supersprint should get 250bhp hopefully.

Yes I have seen quite a few advertised at those prices but they don't sell normally.

Seen quite a few good pluses go for between 7K and 9K.

You get a lot of car for your money in my opinion, especially once chipped , but as has been said they are getting older and depreciation has to be accepted as a fact of life with most cars.
