recently bought a bad purchase a 1999 2.8D (N/A) fiat high roof maxi lwb on 93,000 miles. for £600.
unfortuantley a few problems have cropped up which didnt show themselves on the test ride
my main conceren is when i full lock to the right i get a clunck sound come from the drivers wheel arch and after you've had the vehicle on full left lock, it will pull in the LH direction if you let the wheel go whilst going along, and vice-versa.
what could this be and is it a major danger as it has been like it for a while with out getting worst, and i can find any worn ball joints or steering rack problems.
could it be a broken strut or suspension bearing???? and dose anyone know approx part costs?
now for the next few no urgent problems:
the gearbox changes fine in all gears but it is a little hit and miss getting it into reverse but no grinding noises. could someone let me know what typical faults these have with the gearbox please.
:bang: just had a phone call from the misses now theres a loud rattling which goes when the clutch is pressed....so thats a new clutch bearing to be done then
also the vehicle hates cruising at 70mph as it feels that it wants to go faster but cant due to hesitation/feeling of on off lack of power.?????
if anyone can help me out with where to start looking to fix these problems and approximate part costs as i do the work myself i t would be greatly appreciated....:worship::worship::worship:
