I've just bought a stilo (yesterday infact) and ive got a couple of questions about the radio.

1. Is the Radio supposed to stay on when you take the key from the ignition?
2. Can i install a cd changer and it work with the existing radio?
3. If so is there a particular model of cd changer that i need to buy?

Cheers

1. Yes

2. Yes but they are costly and Unreliable.

3. http://www.bluespot.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/idc-a09-changer (There are many versions of these so make sure you get the one with fiat firmware)

Will be cheaper/ easier and better sound to get an Aftermarket MP3 head unit. Either that or get a standard MP3 CD Head unit. These can be as much as an aftermarket one though. If you want to go this rout just drop me a PM. (y)

Is there a way to make it turn off when you leave the car then. It seems daft that radio should stay on when i've left the car.

I couldnt see it as an option when i was looking, i'll have another check later though. I was just worried about having 5 years of motoring without needing to turn the radio off when i get out i might leave it on and find my battery dead.

I did that the other day, luckily someone noticed and I went back and switched it off. I wondered about this too actually, this is the first Fiat I have owned (Panda, Uno, Punto, Bravo) that doesnt switch everything off when you turn off the ignition. Having left on the stereo and / or the headlights at times that feature has saved me from many a flat battery over the years.

There is a setting to change how long it stays on if you forget to turn it off.
It really is nothing to worry about you soon get used to turning it off.

Fiona you have been lucky, I would imagine some of those cars HU's have been wired to the ignition by previous owners.

I was having a look today and if you hold the menu button rather than pressing it you get a second menu. In the 2nd menu there is an option for auto off.
