Ive been lucky in that most of my boyfs have given me flowers...usually just for the thought of it..the occasional ones were when we had arguments tho I do usually think that they are giving me flowers because they want to...hope im not being clueless then

i wouldnt really buy flowers on bdays, anniversaries etc, i like to do things when i want to, although i have yet to buy flowers for a woman

They go down far better on a first date I find as you know the guy can't have done anything wrong yet . Nothing flashy though, just a small bunch or single rose.

it depends on the type of date, if its casual - movie etc then flowers would be weird.
If you take them out for a meal and then a drink its a bit different.

i personally would think the guy was trying too hard if he gave me flowers on the first date.

Good alternative - chocs ...maybe thats just me.
