Technical Punto won't start?

Have been driving my punto 1.2 8v with no problems. Just got back in it at the petrol station and it won't start. Batery reads 12.44 volts. Checked alternator and starter motor they are working with no problems. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

So it turns over fine?
Does the code light on the dash come on and then go off?

If no other sympoms (ECU light, code light), check for spark and fuel past the injector(s). If neither it will be the TDC sensor.

You might try woggling the TDC lead while someone else cranks it -- this isn't a permanent fix, but may get it to fire up.

all the lights come on at stage then handbrake petrol and batt light stay on when try to turn it over... like it would as normal. ecu and code light are not on.

Will try woggling the tdc lead now.

other half figured it due to the battery.. as apparantly it's loosing volts ?? putting my audi batt in... see if that starts her. Will let you know. Thank you

Is this after you swapped the battery?

Nominally, it means the key isn't recognised.

yes after swapped battery, it came on for a few minutes and not come on since. It can be bump started but not jump started if that makes any sense.

So, starter motor turns and engine doesn't fire?

replaced with another not new starter motor n does the same thing, lights go dim when u try to turn it over. Stuck and running out of ideas help
