What could be wrong with my Puntos gearbox being sometimes difficult to sellect 1st and 2nd gear? ( Difficult meaning not so smooth and sometimes having to press and release a clutch again ) Other gears works fine. It's been this way since the day I bought it some three yrs ago and I got used to it by now, but I was always wondering should I take it to service or just drive it like this till it dies?

your clutch slave cylinder is probably faulty it's common on puntos
it's located on top of the gearbox if you pull back the rubber cover you will see wetness of brake fluid all over it leaking out if it is failed
