punto sporting stiff gear change

Hi, can someone help i have a tiat punto sporting 1.2 w reg and when it gets warm i almost break the gear stick in half trying to get it in gear does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be thanks Guys Paul

your gear selector needs adjusting, its at the back of the bonnet just infront of the splash tray. It attaches onto your gearbox at the top

Hi there

If you get a chance also check underneath the car to see if your gear box is leaking oil, my old Punto MK2 Elx began to also behave like this but there many other issues involved. Your problem can also be clutch related, if not engaging properly your simply forcing the gears in to place.
