Bought fiat Punto 1994 for my lad speedo not workin, model is electronic sender type( transducer if we are to be posh , haynes manual), checked ,has power to connector to sender on top of gearbox, bought new sender fitted no joy,Fiat garrage will only advise if car is booked in , they say fault is certain to be a plastic gear in the gearbox? gearbox will have to be removed est £400 + has anybody had this problem, if i have to take out gearbox has anybody done this ,can you send instructions and easiest way to go about it ,have access to a pit .
