Technical Punto speedo engine and power steering light faults.

I have bought a 2004 punto with engine and power steering light on and the speedo dose not work.

After looking around on here it looks like it probably needs the modified Vehicle Speed Sensor wiring loom?

I have spoke with my local fiat parts man who has asked the tecs in workshop and no one has heard of this modification?

Can anyone give me a part number of this modified loom or have any other ideas how to fix?

seeing as you have just bought this car with these faults i would suggest you bought a runt

that's not a test, you need to get a meter on it and check it with engine running.

Re the VSS mod, tell your fiat dealer to check their service bulletins from around 2005 ish. The 2003/4 cars are particularly prone to it.

What model do you have and does it have ABS?

Its a 1.2 8v Active with no Abs.

Hi,

Definitely worth checking if its had the VSS mod done then as it ticks the boxes being a 2004 non ABS model.

As I say, tell the parts guy to check the Service Bulletins from around 2005, it will definitely be there.
