Technical Punto Mk2-engine management light

Have a problem with the engine management unit light flashing - typically when decelerating from around 70-ish mph. It does this pretty much every time on decelerating from speed, and flashes for up to 10 seconds.
So, took to the garage - diagnosed at multi-point failure and had coils and HT leads changed - but problem hasn't gone away. Any ideas what it could be?

multi-point failure? thats a new one too me, is that a main dealer you went too?

No - wasn't a main dealer - was a local garage. But did take it to a main dealer originally, who said it was a malfunction and 're-set' it - clearly that didn't work.
