I have connected my Kenwood CD player with the standard ISO connector to my MK1 Punto.

I am wanting to have the stereo to go off with my ignition, according to the wiring instrcutions I connected the yellow wire to the the red wire on the stereo for this. However no matter if I connect RED to RED or YELLOW to RED my CD player still works with the ignition off.

Is this just the way the ISO is wired on a MARK 1 punto so power is always there or am I missing something obvious?

Cheers

have you cut the plug off your wires on your car? if not go to car accesory shop and get adapter that connects fron head unit to cat i think the 2 power cables are back to front an you need adapter to correct it easly. i not expert on ice someone else may know a better idea.

i had the same prob when i was fittin my cd player to my punto.. i wanted it to switch off with the engine.. but had no luck...
i asked a guy i know, and he said it was cus apperently puntos always have a live feed or something.. so they dont switch off with the engine or some guff like that
i just smiled and nodded my head...
dunno how much of that is true or not! but just tellin u what i know! :)

i got a mk2 punto and when i put my new cd playeer it would stay on when i turned inginition off. but i just looked at wiring details of car and of stereo. cut a couple of wires rejoined 2 and now it turns off when i turn ignition off. allthough you can still turn it on if you want when car not running
