Hi everyone,

I have a 1996 Punto Mk1 and want to change from the tape player thats in there now to the Sony CDXF7500 cd/mp3 player (without cd changer).

Will I need to buy a wiring adaptor or a fascia? Will it be easy to install or should I get it fitted by someone who knows what they're doing (I don't)?

Thanks :)

Changing a stereo in a MK1 is easy, I just removed my tape player and connected my cd player to the standard ISO wiring, pluged in my aerial and slid my CD player in.

Really is a simple job.

My Mk1's ISO power connector (which had to be hacked off as my stereo didn't have an ISO plug  ) had an always-on power supply, the ignition doesn't affect the stereo at all. Was this standard or has mine been previously bodged?

I believe all MK1 Punto's wiring allows the stereo to work with the ignition off.
I would prefer it to go off when I turn the ignition off, but it only takes an exrta second to turn the stereo off so ce la vie.
