Hello everyone,i can get this great gearbox for a very low price(It is from a Punto 1.1 or else Punto 55 MK1).Can this fit in my Seicento Sporting MK2?If yes,Is it "plug and play" or we will have to do some conversion?

Do check the gearing, but it's pretty much a straight swap. Just use the cable operated stuff off your old box to fit and ditch the Punto hydraulics. Check that the input shaft drive seal and bearing are OK (for some reason these are weak spots -- believed to be underspecified bearings) on the Punto box.

I want to be 100% sure that it fits directly to my car, because i might lose the offer...please let me know as soon as possible!!I got it for just 150 euros plus 6 months warranty!!!

Firstly check that the gearbox on your car is a dry joint box (the Punto will be)

It is a direct swap onto the engine, you need to put the Sei clutch fork into the Punto Box and change the selector tower.

These are a straight swap from your box, its the shafts that may be the issue.

It is a longer box so the wheel may rub the box, lock stops may be required.

Cheers

Here's the link to the FAQ's/guide that should clarify everything as said above:

I was wrong about it not being as long as the 16v 6 speed box, not sure where I got that from

Edit: I've just noticed you have a mpi sei, regarding driveshaft setup as mentioned in the link, it may cause a problem. I know someone who had issues with the length of driveshafts when fitting a panda 999cc engine to a MK2 Punto.

I think the box off a 16v sporting will fit without these problems.
