Hi all,

Why does everyone hate the mark 2.5 front lights so much, I think there really nice, makes the car look really mean!

I dont like the mk 2 lights there boring and flat and have no character to them!

What do you guys think?

The lights on the MK2 are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not just the lights on the MK2.5, it's the grille too - just looks like the old Polo now.

And MG obviously thought they looked good enough to go on the MG Xpower SV:

Agree with Mr.Coates, the mk2 Punto lights are brilliant - different, individual, like a work of art when you look inside them. Gives the car a meaner look than the 'something's just been stuck up my bum-hole' style look that most manufacturers seem to be copying these days. I personally much prefer the mk2, when I change car if it's a choice between mk2 and mk2.5 then I'll take the former any day.

Do bear in mind that this is just a personal opinion though!

im with you dazza i love the new ones. not just saying that because its what ive got now honest lol. when they first came out i wasnt too sure and id rather the ones on ma mk2 sporting at the time. hate them on the basic car tho without the diff bumper though. the mk 2 ones altho nice look dated to me now (no offence to the mk 2 owners)

I'll admit they've grown on me a lot more than at first - and the look MUCH better with the Sporting bumpers too.

But the lights look like this:

Well I have to admit that aint that bad i suppose, the mk 2 ones that is!

Its just that my dad has a x reg punto mia and well it just looks boring, and its in that horrid baby blue colour :yuck:

It will be interesting to see what the new mk3 punto lights will be like, probably be the same as the the mk2. do doubt!

What do you guys think of the rear lights on the mk2.5 then? I was thinking of getting some different ones but i dont no if its going to affect my insurance or not

I prefer Mk2 ovcer Mk2.56 for lights, both front and rear. The 5 door only has the extra bumper reflectors at the rear, but has the round FIAT logo in the middle of the boot. I like the clean lines of the Mk2 boot. As for the 3 door, those extra refectors look crap to me. :(

I'm undecided I like both - with the Mk3 Fiat has abandoned individuality in favour of bringing it inline with everyone else. Mind you if it sells more cars who can blame them. I don't mind the lights.
Mind you if it sells more cars

Edit I can't believe I just said that! these are the same people that think the idea was a good, er, idea.

I like the mk2 lights more than the mk2.5/3 - would a mk2 light conversion look good on a mk1 - oppinions?

mk2 lights were awesome - a real design classic. In practice though, when I had a mk2 I thought they were a bit crap at actually illuminating things - but what the f**k when they look like that!

Mine only look good when they're not steamed up... not often that is!

I love the mk2 lights, they make the car look aggresive from the front, they also have a cool blue colour from some angles  I think the mk2.5 lights make it look soft like a startled chipmunk!

Trouble is though, all the chavvy boy racers are fitting the mk2 lights to their Renault5s and old Escorts :yuck: They dont look right.............but at least they have some taste

i loved the lights on my Mk2 punto but the lights on the new sporting have grown on me, as someone else said i think, the sporting bumpers make the lights look better
