Good morning, i'm a newbie but can't seem to get myself on that "newbie" section in order to introduce myself so i'll try it here. I am a 62 year old self-employed dog walker. My interest in Fiats [ let them be made! ] began in 1974 when my mum bought a 128 for her first car and used to trust me to drive it to visit a girlfriend in Bradford. My said mum went on to own 2 new 127s and my father had a 132 and a Strada. In early 1978 i bought my first Fiat, an 850 saloon and then i got an 850 Sport Coupe in yellow [ lhd ] . I desperately wish i still had that one! In the early 80s i had a 128 of my own, in metallic blue bought at auction in Bristol and another 850 Sport Coupe in red and a 132. That was then it until about 1988 when my wife had a 127 and in about 2004 we bought our first Punto, a Mk 2, 10 years after we were first entranced by the Punto when spotting one in Chester while celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, having just come out of a public showing of 4 Weddings And A Funeral. Our oldest son then had a Punto Mk 2 for a few months before chopping it in for a Mini, losing £1100 in the process. Here's where it starts to get more interesting to the casual observer: i had spotted a young lady driving round in a white Mk 1 Cabrio and to cut to the chase, she invited me to make an offer for it [ it was 1 family owned, R reg and with only 30K on the clock ] so i offered her £900. I heard nothing at all for about 15 months until she approached me in the pub and said i could have it for £250, just like that. Natch, i bit her hand off. That was 3 or 4 years ago and it has been on and off the road since then, not because it needs or needed work we couldn't afford to pay for but because my wife had her own lease car and i used a van for my dogwalking business. It is a 1.2 16 valve 1242 cc Bertone model with 4 electric windows and electric hood. I need a nsf wing, pref. in white but i could have another one painted. Can any body out there help? If not with an actual wing, could anyone confirm whether or not the saloon and cabrio front wings are identical? My tel no is 01484 305978.

Hi John and welcome to the world of Cabrio ownership. We have owned our for 16 years now and we both still enjoy it.
You may be lucky with the front wing, as I believe that the wings and the bonnet are the only panels shared with the rest of the Punto range.

Hi and welcome, The front is the same as the ordinary Punto, wings, bonnet etc. Just getting a bit harder to find but should be some around.
