Punto HGT

my mate has got a mk 2 Punto HGT and there is a big debate amongst everyone as to whether it has a turbo or not? a mechanic has said it's not, he seems to think it has and apparently the rac say it has, as does another mechanic. they say it's low compression. can someone please just confirm this. cheers

Thought the mk1 GT was a 1.4 turbo, and the HGT a 1.8 non turbo ?

hi there,

the older version of punto gt with 1372cc it was a turbo engine,the new punto hgt 1747cc it is not a turbo engine,and it is a high compression engine with 11:1 while the first has 8,5:1 compression!
