Hi All,

I am looking for some advice. I am waiting for one of my cars to qualify for the scrappage scheme which I will then use towards a new 500 Abarth.

In the mean time, I quite fancy getting a Punto GT. I had one about 9 years ago and enjoyed it.

What would a good condition, non modified 1998 model be worth with slightly under average miles for the year?

Also, if anyone knows of an immaculate low mileage non modified GT, please contact me.

Many thanks,

David

Does the scrappage scheme allow this?

I thought your car had to be 10 years old FROM THE DAY THE SCHEME STARTED.
not from the day you are scrapping your car.

So not sure if you can
wait for one of my cars to qualify for the scrappage scheme
i could be wrong though.

As for pricing, search the internet, places like ebay, autotrader, pistonheads will give you a rough idea.

Its a shame to scrap it anyway, such nice cars.

Hey, I wouldn't scrap the GT. It is an old Golf GTi I have. I have used it for the last 7 months as a commuting car so need to own it longer for it to qualify for scrappage - one year minimum ownership hence the wait until I can get a 500 Abarth. The Golf is a 1991 so is well over 10 years old.

I have looked around the internet for values of the Punto GT but thought you guys here would know best.

Thanks,

D

It's dead money buying a GT if you're planning on buying a 500.

They are notorious for being mistreated by 'cheap' owners and boy racers.

Mint standard ones fetch a premium and still require £££ spent on them.
