Hi Guys I've got my self a Punto Evo and first thing I did was upgrade my door speakers. Im looking to fit a sub, using the standard HU. I've searched around and some people say there is already wiring in the footwell some say there isn't unless you had a sub fitted from fiat.

My question simply is how do you install a sub plus amp using the standard HU? Is there existing wiring? If not is there an output on the HU or is it a case of taking the feed from the rear speakers?

Btw, Im not looking for anything to blow the doors off, just want a nice bit of low down bass to compliment the alpines I've got in there now. Maybe one day ill upgrade the HU to something aftermarket but that will not be for some time.

Thanks in Advance Guys :D

I don't think the standard head unit would have any Sub Pre-Outs as there are no controls in the menu's to alter subwoofer settings (not on my APE one anyway)

I went to my local Car HiFi installer a few days ago & enquired about either upgrading my OEM sub or a 3rd party one, they replied "don't bother with the OEM sub as it's only 4" & not worth changing as there may not be a bass gain. The best way is to buy a "under the seat" Pioneer sub".

or use up some of the boot space for a sub / tube in a box.

I would pay for a proper installer to add a head unit / sub as you know the job is done properly & sometimes sound better than installing it yourself.

Use sound deadening stuff like "Dynamat" on the doors as this will help stop any vibrating / rattling etc & will improve the sound.
