Technical punto doors

im not sure if its just because of where i stay (middle of no where)

but at nights if there is a frost the doors on my punto seam to freeze, the locking inside wont allow the door to shut properly.


i was pulled over by the police one night (random stop) (and im a teenager :bang and he was asking me if the doors froze on the car as hes got the same model at home, and his froze if its a wee bit too cold we got round to this when he saw the slight dent on the side lol.

was just wondering if it was the same with all puntos or just the R reg ones lol and if anyone else has the same problem

I've got an 04 plate Punto and my doors freeze something awful sometimes I can unlock it but no pull the door open, other times I can't even get the key all the way in the lock. Not the handiest when I'm always running late for work

In the inside of the door is a catch that shuts when the handle is down and is released when the handle is pulled, however although the handle was down the catch wasn't bouncing back. So when I shut the door it just bounced open again. Is this what you mean?

If so WD40 and lots of it in the door catch will solve it, stops it freezing.

just put some glycerine inside locks and on rubber that seals the doors and it wont happen anymore.

that is exactly what happend, i got it open then it wouldnt shut lol

i was running late for college and had an exam that day so when i was shall we say trying to preswade the door to shut with my foot lol i kind of put a dent in the side, easily sorted just makes my car differnt from all the others out there lol

making it handy considering some one has aparently cloned my number plate but the police wont act on it unless they have photo graphic evidence and its only by brother and his girlfriend that have seen this car. but as long as they arnt breaking the law its okay lol
